The Beechcraft Baron is one of the most successful light twins ever built! The very first variant went into production in 1961 and after decades of modifications and changes, the G-58 version is still being produced today! This version is the B-55 model B that incorporates two 260 horsepower engines, a 6 seat, forward facing cabin and all the comfort and feel that Beechcraft is known for. Cruise speed is around 175 knots at roughly 25 gallons per hour. The engine size and the advanced systems qualify this aircraft as both Complex and High Performance. It has more than enough power to make you respect it yet it is docile enough that you still love it. This aircraft is more representative of the larger twin propeller planes than it's smaller counterparts like the Seminole or Duchess. It does not have a counter rotating prop so practicing engine failures on the critical engine will make you a better pilot.
